White Sands
Class Size Limited to 12 Destination In this digital photograph workshop you'll see one of my favorite locations to photograph. I return to it again and again. Few places on earth are as elegant, changeable, and mysterious. A natural wonder, White Sands National Monument is situated in the world's largest gypsum dune field. It's stunning white forms are continually transformed by wind under big sky. Light and shadows constantly change revealing an amazing variety of form and color. The dune fields are varied leading out past tall hoodoos to a large alkalai flat. A number of plants and animals have adapted to this strange environment. The history of the location is varied. Geronimo used the valley and dune fields as a hiding place. Later, the first atomic bomb was detonated there. Today, the airforce conducts training maneuvers in the surrounding area. This workshop will offer a complete immersion into this fascinating location. There will be extensive reviews of work done on site. We'll focus on developing a series of images that reflects your unique vision and telling your story in the most effective and compelling ways.
