John
I have followed your work and blog for the last ten years and I found this short interview to be especially meaningful. I understand why I connect to your work so strongly given the overlapping of our list of influences. As a photo student in 1972 I was inspired by Uelsmann’s work, Minor White and your father. In 1978 I became interested in color and the natural world and Eliot Porter’s vision challenged me to look deeper. I’m grateful for all your generous sharing.
John,
What a wonderful tour through the minds of 5 genius artists. I have admired you and your work for quite some time, and now I get to see a glimpse into those that have helped make you the artist you are today. Thank you for this very inspiring and touching piece.
