Space Is Limited
Destination
This boutique workshop offers exceptional one-on-one time in an intimate group.
Immerse yourself in the many delights of Italy surrounding the world-famous Amalfi Coast. Walk Positano’s Path of the Gods, sail to the isle of Capri, visit the remains of the Greco-Roman city of Paestum, and explore the ruins of the ancient city of Pompeii buried by the nearby volcano Mt Vesuvius.
The locations are larger than life, but we’ll make sure you don’t go so fast that you miss the more intimate moments along the way. We’ll go at a pace that leaves ample time to pause, linger, and soak up the full experience as we make our ways through the winding roads and pathways, the picturesque streets and piazzas, the cafes and gelaterias, the gardens and vineyards, tuning into the details, thoughts, and feelings that make up the rich texture of our lives.
You’ll be encouraged to be more experimental and try your hand at many ways of tuning in to and recording your life experiences – meditation, journaling, poetry, and sketching. The photographs you make with your smart phone or point-and-shoot may end up being just as important as the ones you make with your DSLR – possibly more. Your time won’t be spent pursuing perfect pixels with software, it will be spent having moving experiences and recording them in authentic ways.
This exotic adventure is designed to help you make more resonant meaningful images that reflect your life both inside and out. We’ll eat, sleep, and drink photography 24/7 (before sunrise and long after sunset), but it won’t feel like work – it will be pure pleasure.
Rates vary based on double or single occupancy.
Expenses not covered – travel to Italy, lunch and dinner, alcohol, incidentals.
Expenses covered – transportation in Italy, bed and breakfast, guidance / instruction.
In Naples, we’ll pick you up on Saturday May, 3 and drop you off on Friday May 9.
Vision
Our workshops offer an unparalleled opportunity to develop your personal vision at exotic locations in a supportive community. Demonstrations, exercises, and feedback will help you grow your existing skills and talents revealing new ways of seeing and thinking that will energize and strengthen your authentic creative voice. You’ll leave more versatile, focused, and inspired.
The many resources we provide will help you prepare to make the most of your workshop experience and continue developing long afterwards.
Leaders
Respected as an authority on creativity and fine art digital photography / printing, John Paul Caponigro is a highly sought after speaker, lecturing extensively at conferences, universities, and museums, in venues as diverse as Photoshop World, MIT, Google, and TEDx. He teaches workshops globally. He is the author of Adobe Photoshop Master Class and columnist for Digital Photo Pro and the Huffington Post. John Paul dynamically combines his background in painting with traditional and alternative photographic processes using state-of-the-art digital technology. His life’s work is both a call to connection with nature and a call for conscientious creative interaction in our environment during a time of rapid change.
Digital photographer, consultant, and teacher Arduina Palanca Caponigro is a first generation American raised by Italians who immigrated to North Dakota. Her appreciation for the arts grew out of a childhood, which was spent equally in Europe and the United States. As her understanding of the creative life developed, she began to recognize art as not only a source of needed expression, but also as a way of life. She has been teaching and consulting for photographers internationally, helping them to see their computers and software as simple artistic tools. This simplicity is reflected in her personal work in that her images evoke a dreamlike timelessness without a trace of the high-end technology used to create it.
We’re a husband and wife team.
